RunDisney

RunDisney has many choices when it comes to their Marathon Weekends. We have chosen to go in February to the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend. They promote it as the weekend with Princesses, Magical event's and definitely the finisher's medal!   Every encounter with the RunDisney department in Orlando has been very easy in this process. We are also working with St. Jude, raising money in memory of a sweet and wonderful light name Darby who lost her fight with Leukemia in October 2013. More on that in an upcoming entry!
My daughters are both Cross Country runners so we have been to many races~meets over the years and this is our first large event. Working with RunDisney & St. Jude has made all of our planning very easy, of course there are always questions and we have even changed our plans from our original thought of what this trip would be like. However, it seems it will all be for the better in the End.
Choosing your race weekend maybe a hard choice, but once you have done that there will be many more choices to make, Fun and exciting ones but be prepared for a great deal of information.
Will you stay on or off Property?
How many days will you be at Disney?
Are you considering the Disney Meal Plan? Is it free while you are there?
What day is your race?    1/2 Marathon, Challenge Race for that Event Weekend, 10k, 5k, Kids Races?  There truly is something for everyone!
Will you attend the Pasta in the Park? Some have breakfast, concerts/parties, each race weekend offers it's own special way to celebrate the weekend. These do have additional costs.
The RunDisney site is quite helpful on giving you information on when and where to pick up your packet's where to be for race times and dinners, parties all of it. I am looking forward to seeing it all in motion and more than that to finish my 5k in memory of Darby.
My hope as I blog, is I begin to bring you more information on Disney and the different aspects of the park, as we are planning and experiencing them. As always, enjoy your JOURNEY in this life, for it is short and you do not know where it will take you next.
Be back soon!
